Books Galore

The Queen of Style by Buehner & Buehner
this book was really cute especially if you have a girly girl!
Gobble it up by Jim Arnoskywas lots of fun,comes with a fun music cd which the girls danced around the living room to. It also tells about how we all have to eat.
ABC Dentist by Harriet ZiefertKatarina is getting ready to go to the dentist again but is a little nervous so I got this book for her.It is really informative but in a nice way for kids.
Glamsters by Elizabeth Cody KimmelThis was a really cute book about two sister hamsters, who really want to be adopted, one gets this idea in the middle of the night that she needs a makeover,but when her sister wakes up and shows her it's just best to be yourself!
Kitty Cat, Kitty Cat, are you waking up? By Bill Martin Jr.
We really like cats so we get lots of cat books, this is about a little kitty cat doing things in his own time.

Julia and me made some homemade white bread,she really loved kneading the dough, didnt like waiting for it to rise but she loved eating it!

February Studies
February 2nd- groundhog day
we are doing a bunch of crafts and will be outside alot, these are some books we checked out from the library...
-Gregory's Shadow by Don Freeman
-Groundhog day by Gail Gibbons
Febuary 12th- Abraham Lincoln's birthday
This is the book I have on hold at the library for this.
-Abraham Lincoln by Mike Venezia
February 14th- Valentines Day
YAY!!! I love this holiday, I'll probably take the girls out to lunch then to a movie or something nice. We have already been doing crafts for this. These are the books I have on hold for V-Day.
-Be mine, Be mine Sweet Valentine by Sarah Weeks
-Lily's Chocolate heart by Kevin Henkes
-Love, Splat by Rob Scotton
-Mouses first Valentine by Lauren Thompson
For dessert the girls will be making this recipe from http://www.makinglearningfun.com/
5 Minute Chocolate Mug Cake
4 T flour
4 T sugar
2 T cocoa
1 egg
3 T milk
3 T oil
3 T chocolate chips
a splash of vanilla
Mix together in a small bowl. Spray a large mug with cooking spray. Put the batter in the mug. Microwave on high for 3 minutes. Allow to cool a little. Tip out of a plate. You can add whip cream of a drizzle of chocolate syrup. Get two spoons and eat!

-Mardi Gras; A cajun country celebration by Diane Hoyt Goldsmith
We will be making masquerade masks with lots of feathers and having lots of fun!

b-day fun in SF
this is at the Acadamey of Science in San fransisco, we went on tuesday the 13th.it was alot of fun. Katarina's favorite part i couldn't take pictures of.It was the planetarium. She loved it! She wanted to go back again for another show!
